Terms of Business



Ordering From Dartmoor Knife:

Browse through our catalogue and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into your shopping basket.  When you have made your selection, click on ‘checkout’.  You will then be asked to provide some details so that we can process your order.


OTHER COUNTRIES: May pay by Bank Transfer or PayPal (least preferred and only offered for items under £500 GBP value).

UK BUYERS: May pay by Bank Transfer, Over the Counter Payment at any branch of our bank, UK Postal Order made payable to Sterling Supplies, or PayPal (least preferred and not always offered).  email us for our details if not paying via PayPal.

All Buyers Please Note:  We post ONLY to the address CONFIRMED by PayPal or your card issuer.

Despatch Schedule:

We tend to process all orders, where possible, within 24 hours.  Whilst most items will be despatched within one working day, please allow 3-5 working days for delivery within the UK, 5-7 working days for Europe and 7-15 working days Rest of World.

At Dartmoor Knife, we want you to receive your purchase in the same great condition it left us.  We use only good quality materials for packaging.  In the unlikely event that an item should arrive damaged due to our negligence, simply return the item and a replacement will be posted out within one working day, free of charge.

Despatch within UK (incl Northern Ireland)

For all purchases within UK, postage, packaging and handling are all ABSOLUTELY FREE!  Items posted within the UK will normally be sent via Royal Mail Recorded Signed For or Special Delivery Next Day.  Heavier items may be sent via courier and will normally be insured for the full replacement value of the item.  If a buyer requires an expedited service, please email us for a quotation.  Dartmoor Knife reserves the right to replace any of the above services, without notice, for a similar or enhanced service, where we deem it more appropriate.


For overseas deliveries, postage, packaging and handling on all purchases over £50 are ABSOLUTELY FREE!  Check the countries drop-down to see if we post to your country.  Notably, we no longer post to Canada.  Items posted outside the UK will normally be sent via priority air mail (Royal Mail International Tracked or Signed services) and insured for the full value of the goods.  If a buyer requires an expedited service please email us for a quote.  Dartmoor Knife reserves the right to replace any of the above services, without notice, for a similar or enhanced service, where we deem it more appropriate.  Where the total value of a purchase by an overseas Buyer is under £50, postage may be levied at our discretion.

Refunds & Returns:

UK Buyers may return an Item to us within 8 days of delivery.  We may make a full refund, provided the goods are returned in perfect condition and in their original packaging.  A fingermarked/ stained/ creased Dartmoor Box Sleeve is charged at £100.  A fingermarked/ stained/ creased Dartmoor Owner's Booklet is charged at £50.  Damaged Foam Inserts are charged at £30 each.  Return all paperwork with the item.  We do not refund return postage costs.  Items lost or damaged in the post are insured, and we will fill out any necessary Royal Mail/courier claims forms on your behalf and liaise with the correct postal service to achieve a satisfactory outcome.  In the event that this becomes necessary, please be aware a refund will be made as soon as we have clearance from Royal Mail/courier, and that this can take several weeks.  Meanwhile, we will endeavour to keep you informed of all developments as appropriate.  We will not be held responsible in any way in the unlikely event that a Knife is confiscated by your local customs or other service.  We will not issue a refund in such cases.

Overseas Buyers may contact us within 8 days of delivery to discuss a return, which will be entirely at our discretion (and very unlikely).  We do not refund our outward or return postal costs.
